Pastel artwork look best on Artist paper.
Artist use color charcoal and Artist Oil Pastels with clean colors, patches of light/white chalk, and soft edges that blend. Some smaller details are generally lost, bending into the sourrouding area due to the nature of the medium, which is not as percise as others. The painting can take on a whole different dramatic look when colors are saturated and vivid (see "Bright Pastels" sample).
